Latin American Indigenous and Popular struggles are becoming crucial for the continent, a wave of setbacks in progressive changes are on the way trying to destroy social, cultural and political advances of the popular and progressive democracies such us Venezuela, Brazil and Bolivia among others.
Even in countries dominated by neoliberal dominant capitalist Elites, a myriad of popular and indigenous organisations are standing up for their rights and fighting for their culture, food sovereignty and against the voracity of big companies.
Criminalisation of movements is the normality in these countries. Using violence and repression against them, as have been the cases of Mapuche people in Chile-Argentina and recently the “legal” coup and elections fraud in Honduras.
